Small Painting-Warli Art

Hi Friends,

Summer is here and so is the time for summer decor, what say ?
I am extremely passionate about Indian Folk Art, with Warli and Madhubani being my favourite forms of art. Warli painting needs no introduction. When we see Warli painting, we know that art need not be complex/complicated to be appreciated. Warli paintings depict every day life in simple forms and straight lines.

While the traditional paintings use only a single colour-White on a mud base, I have tried to break the monochrome and incorporate some additional elements too.
Work In Progress
Have used Blue and Dark brown as background and White for the basic forms. Though I have made few Warli Paintings earlier, settled for small ones this time with merry making as the subject...

These two dimensional life forms in the Warli painting create magic when incorporated in modern home decor. These beauties have taken their place in my foyer as part of Summer decor and it looks ever beautiful....smiles...

They can also be framed and hung on the wall.
Do let me know how you liked it.

DIY: Recycled bottles,a prelude to Diwali

Hi Guys,

Hope you are busy preparing for the Diwali festivities!
While cleaning my house for this Diwali, I stumbled upon some empty bottles. Wanted to reuse the bottles as I am a great fan of Recycled products. I decided to do a little make-over and this is what I did...

More the merrier

I have used 3-D glitter to dress them up. These bottles can be used in various arrangements singly or in groups.

I quite liked these two arrangements... what do you think?

These recycled bottles immediately added zing to my Diwali decoration
Do let me know how did you like them @ rubyspalette@gmail.com

Wishing you a happy and fun-filled DIWALI !!!
